TESTIMONY: The Legacy of Schindler’s List and The USC Shoah Foundation

Dr. Stephen D. Smith is the Execu­tive Director of USC Shoah Foun­dation—The Institute for Visual History and Education. He found­ed the UK Holocaust Centre and cofound­ed the Aegis Trust for the preven­tion of crimes against humanity and genocide. In 2013, Smith was named the inaugural UNESCO Chair on Genocide Education.

He will discuss how Steven Spielberg's encounters with Holocaust survivors while filming Schindler's List prompted him to create the Shoah foundation and collect survivor testimonies in 56 countries in 32 languages.
