Join us for our 11th ANNIVERSARY LMAHH trip to Whitwell, Tennessee, home of the "Paper Clips" project and the Children's Holocaust Memorial. This year, the dates of the trip are Sunday, September 15 - Monday, September 16, 2024.
The community will also be celebrating the 20TH ANNIVERSARY of the release of the "Paper Clips" documentary during our visit.
Our bus has 56 seats - once our bus is full the trip is sold out! This is on a "first come, first served" system of booking. The booking MUST be completed through this site so your reservation is time stamped and official.
This trip is designed as a family trip. STUDENTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN
Itinerary and Highlights:
- Fly to Nashville (6:00 AM Flight - Arrive Nashville 7:05 AM Central Time)
- PLEASE NOTE: This is the only non-stop group flight. There will be ample time to sleep/rest!
- Take a coach bus (with wifi) to Whitwell, TN. Screening of "Paper Clips" movie on the bus
- Church service
- Catered kosher lunch
- Memorable candle lighting ceremony at the Holocaust Railcar
- Catered kosher dinner
- Overnight stay at the Hampton Inn, Kimball, TN. Again: It won't be a late night!
- Tour of the Children's Holocaust Memorial Museum
- Meet the Whitwell student who will be your "buddy"
- Catered kosher lunch at Whitwell Middle School
- Some time to "Stroll Nashville" on Lower Broadway
- Fly home Monday (7:25 PM Flight - Arrive PHL 10:25 PM)
Why so expensive, you might ask? Great question! Our expenses include airfare, coach bus, hotel, kosher meals and t-shirts. In additon, we pay for all meals, t-shirts and program supplies for our Tennessee friends.
Financial assistance may be available. Please check with your individual synagogues.
This is an educational trip and typically an excused absence from school. I have a letter for schools explaining the excused absence and the meaningful impact of this trip.
